US 1 (State Road (SR) 5) and Nova Road (SR 5A)

Volusia County – Motorists need to be on the look-out for construction beginning May 14th at the intersection of US 1 and Nova Road in the Ormond Beach area as the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) begins intersection improvement operations.

The project includes the construction of a left turn lane along Nova Road, milling and resurfacing the intersection, discontinuation of the northbound continuous green light and replacement of Traffic Signal Mast Arm and street lighting. 

Halifax Paving, Inc. is performing the work. The project will last approximately 80 calendar days, weather permitting. The project construction cost is $307,254.

There will be daytime and nighttime lane closures northbound and southbound and FDOT will provide updates regarding any lane closures as they occur.

Motorists should be alert for construction personnel and equipment along the construction corridor. Motorists are urged to use caution and drive with care.
