The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is holding a public information open house regarding planned roadway widening on SR 50 from east of the West Oaks Mall to west of Good Homes Road in Orange County.

The widening project includes the reconstruction of SR 50 from four lanes to six lanes, including the bridge over Lake Lotta, the addition of bike lanes, sidewalks and drainage improvements. Construction of these improvements will begin in the summer of 2012.

The open house is scheduled for Thursday, March 15th at the West Oaks Library located at 1821 E. Silver Star Rd in Ocoee. The open house will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
